Hot Spots are points of interests where more higher variety loot are in abundance thanks to the presence of Loot Carriers! At least one hot spot will show up in every match!

Get High Rarity Loot from Loot Carrier
What makes Hot Spots special are the presence of Loot Carriers, which are tiny drones carrying rare to higher variety guns! Shoot them down to release items, but you'll have to go to where it drops to get them.

Number of Loot Carriers Depend on Size of Named Location
Not all locations will have the same number of Loot Carriers if they become a Hot Spot. The Bigger the area, the more Loot Carriers will spawn there.
Only Named Locations can be Hot Spots
Don't bother checking other areas because only named locations can be a Hot Spot in matches. They're chosen by random and are marked with yellow letters in the map.
At Least 1 Hot Spot in Each Match
Every match, a Hot Spot will appear so check your map. Although there are instances where 2 Hot Spots spawn in a match, it's pretty rare as most matches only get 1.
4 Hot Spots in Team Rumble
Playing in Team Rumble is a great way of finding Hot Spots as 4 of them spawn per match. This was done in the v9.10 Content Update to make each team have at least 1 Hot Spot on their side.

Don't Shoot Down Loot Carriers from Afar
Loot Carriers drop their loot where they are destroyed. If you shoot down one from far away, you'll have to go there to get the item. Another player might take the chance and get it before you.
Be Cautious When Shooting Loot Carriers
Firing your weapon can easily alert enemies in the area to your presence and location. Make sure you're prepared for a fight before shooting down a Loot Carrier.
Hot Spots are High Interest Points
With the amount of loot in the area, Hot Spots become high interest points for players. You may find yourself fighting off multiple enemies when dropping down on one.
