Should You Buy The Battle Pass?

battle pass standard

Should You Buy The Battle Pass?

The Battle Pass won't help you win in combat since the rewards are skins. However once you purchase it, you will be rewarded with enough CoD Points to purchase the Battle Pass for the next season, so we recommend purchasing it if you find the rewards appealing and especially if you plan to continue playing for a while.

Players That Should Buy The Battle Pass

If you like the exclusive skins and are planning to play the game for a while, we think the Battle Pass is worth it. Especially because you can earn back enough CP to purchase the next battle pass.

Players That Should Buy BlackCell

Unlike the standard Battle Pass, you can't purchase the BlackCell using CP. It will cost roughly 30 USD. But you still may want to consider the purchase if you plan to use CP for skins and tier skips. BlackCell has more value than what you're paying for if you consider the number of skins, CP points, tier skips and the actual Battle Pass.

How To Purchase

How to purchase Battle Pass

To purchase the Battle Pass, go to the Battle Pass tab at the top of the screen at the HQ screen. Then you will see a button on the right that brings you to the purchase screen.

What You Can Get

Without the Battle Pass, there are only a few rewards that players can unlock (marked "Free") but purchasing the Battle Pass grants access to all the other rewards. These rewards are mostly skins, providing new looks for Operators & weapons. It does also offer a couple new weapons but the Battle Pass purchase is not required for that.

How To Unlock Rewards

Battle Pass progression is divided into 20 Sectors each with 5 rewards. You progress from Sector to Sector like a board game, but to move on to the adjacent Sector you need to unlock all 5 rewards in that Sector. 1 Battle Token can unlock 1 reward, so you need to consume 5 Tokens to start unlocking the next Sector.

Choose Which Rewards To Get

reward unlock order

Although it is called a Tier system, you can choose which Sectors to unlock first depending on which reward you want. For example, starting from the bottom left, once you unlock all 5 rewards in the first Sector, you can choose to go up to A2 or go right to A3.

BlackCell Only

If you purchase the BlackCell, you will also have the option to start unlocking Sections from the BlackCell Section on the upper right, highlighted red. This will allow you to unlock high-tier rewards even faster.

How To Earn Battle Tokens?

You will earn Battle Tokens as you level up your account and complete daily challenges, so you just need to continue playing normally to earn them. You can also purchase Battle Tokens with CoD points if you're in a hurry.

How To Buy CoD Points

how to buy cod points

To purchase CoD Points (CP), go to the Store tab at the top of the screen at the HQ screen. Then you will see a button on the right that shows how many CP you have. That will bring you to the purchase screen.

Battle Pass Season 1 Official Website

What Is The Battle Pass?

This guide is based on the information from the past series. It will be updated after the full game is released.

SA Season-Based In-Game Loot System

The Battle Pass is an in-game economy system introduced to the past Modern Warfare series. When a new "Season" releases, players can unlock season-specific loot by playing the game and completing challenges.

Composed Of A Free & Premium Stream

The Battle Pass is composed of both a Free and Premium stream. All players will be able to earn the rewards of the free stream while players need to purchase the Battle Pass in order to get the Premium stream's rewards.

Not A Lootbox System

The Battle Pass system will allow players to see the content that they are earning or purchasing, therefore is not a lootbox system as no RNG elements are involved.

Comprised Mostly Of Cosmetic Items

Battle Pass items are mostly cosmetics only, providing new fresh looks for different operators & weapons. Core updates like new weapons are available for everyone to unlock by tier progression.
