How to Get Phantom Echoes
Certain Shiny Echoes appear on The Field
Shiny Echoes are glowing Echoes that can appear in the field. By defeating them, you can obtain a Phantom Echo.

No Need to Reroll for Different Colors
Once you have obtained a Phantom Echo, the same Echo can be converted from a regular Echo to a different color. If you want to use Phantom Echoes, you can just farm the regular ones and change the color later.

In the Depths of Illusive Realm store, you can get the Phantom Echo: "Impertenance Heron". You can get the skin for it, but it won't give you the actual Echo.

Exchange at Adversity Exchange Shop
Phantom: Echoes can also be obtained at the Deep Tower Exchange's shop. To exchange it, you will need specific resources that can be obtained from the Tower of Adversity and from Tactical Hologram rewards.

Phantom Echo Locations
Each Phantom Echo has a Fixed Location
Phantom Echoes have a fixed location for each type. Once a Phantom Echo is obtained, it will respawn in the same spot.
Hoartoise Location 1
The Hoartoise can be found in two locations, one appearing in the lower right corner of Tolling Stream. You will find it with other regular colored Hoartoises.

This Hoartoise is in the river at the lower left of Thorny Passage.

Rocksteady Guardian Location
It appears at the bottom of the Withering Frontline. It is relatively easy to find as it is fighting a regular Rocksteady Guardian.

How to Change Echo Color
Change from the Lower Right Icon on the Equipment Screen
Once you have obtained a Phantom Echo, you can change its appearance from the icon in the lower right corner of the screen of the relevant Echo. All Echoes with a Phantom Echo variant will have the icon, even if you do not have it yet.
Appearance Does Not Change Stats
The Echo's status does not change even if you change its appearance. There is no effect on combat, so choose whichever look you prefer.
