How to Power Up Your Character - Get Strong Fast

How to power up characters in Wuthering Waves (WuWa). Learn how to get Character EXP to increase stats, Ascension, Weapon enhance, Echo Upgrades and unlock max level caps.

Level Up/Ascension

Leveling up provides the greatest increase in character stats and should be prioritized for enhancement. Levels can be raised by acquiring experience points, with a maximum level of 90. Experience points can be obtained either by consuming materials or by defeating enemies.

Ascension Needed to Unlock Level Cap

At first the level cap is 40 and to unlock the level cap, it is necessary to consume resources primarily dropped by bosses to ascend your character's level. Additionally, increasing the character's level with increase the Resonator Rank.

Skills

Skills can also be leveled up by consuming resources, and there are five types of items that can be leveled up: Basic Attack, Resonance Skill, Forte Circuit, Resonance Liberation, and Intro Skill. These can be strengthened up to a maximum of level 10. Additionally, the priority of skills to level up varies depending on the character.

Ascension is Required to Strengthen Skills

To enhance skills, it is necessary to increase the Resonator Rank of the character. The Resonator Rank increases by Ascending the character to raise the maximum level.

Resonance Chain

You can obtain the same character or acquire the Waveband corresponding to the character in places like the store. By consuming Wavebands you can unlock the character's Resonance Chain, and passive skills are added. Additionally, the Resonance Chain has six levels.

Weapon Ascension

Weapons can also be ascended to have their level cap increased, just like characters. Base stats such as attack power will increase.

Weapon Syntonize

You can syntonize weapons by consuming the same weapon to strengthen its abilities. Each time you Syntonize, the weapon's rank increases, and it can be strengthened up to rank 5.

Echo Upgrade

Echoes can also consume resources like weapons and characters to increase its level. As your character levels up, its HP and attack power stats increase. However early on, prioritizing this isn't crucial so you can wait until you get high rarity Echoes first.

Sub Attribute Slots can be Unlocked with Echo Tuning

After leveling up, you can unlock Sub Attribute Slots by consuming the Echo Development Materials called Tuners to undergo Echo Tuning. Since Sub Attribute Slots are randomized, there's a selection process involved until you get the desired configuration.
