Echoes that have a 3-star rarity or more can be tuned when they are at least level 5. Each time you increase an Echo's level by 5, you unlock one tuning slot. Tuning requires materials called Tuners.

The number of times you can tune an Echo depends on its Rarity. Echoes with 2 Stars cannot be Tuned even if their level is increased, so you need to obtain Echoes with 3 stars or higher.

How to Get Tuner Materials

Collect from Tidal Heritage

Tuners needed for Echo tuning can be obtained from star-shaped Tidal Heritage located throughout the map. Most of these are unlocked by defeating nearby enemies, so it's a good idea to collect them if you see one while exploring.

Grinding Tacet Fields

If you want to gather a large amount of Tuners quickly, you can do Tacet Field Cleanup runs. This way you can farm Echoes at the same time, but keep in mind you need to consume Waveplates each time.

Echo Tuning Tips

Get the best Main Attributes before Tuning 5-stars

Wuthering Waves Image

When you get more rare Echoes, getting Tuners becomes harder, especially for tuning 5-star Echoes. These are not easy to find. Therefore, when tuning 5-star Echoes, prioritize selecting those with the best effects as main attributes.

Preserve Tuners if you're not sure

Even if you don't tune your Echoes, it won't have a big impact on early game progress. So, it's safer to wait until you've progressed a bit in the game and have gathered a collection of Echoes before considering tuning 5-star ones.
