Greninja Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. High Bench Attack capability
  2. Powerful Energy Acceleration from Misty
  3. Vulnerable before evolving

High Bench Attack capability

  1. Articuno ex Blizzard
  2. Greninja in action

Greninja's "Water Shuriken" can deal 20 damage not only to the Active Spot but also to Pokemon on the Bench. Combined with Articuno ex's Blizzard, this deck can target damage on Pokemon on the Bench.

Powerful Energy Acceleration from Misty

  1. Using Misty
  2. Coin Toss 3 Heads

By using Misty to attach Water Energy, you can speed up the turns needed to attack. If you get Energy from Misty on your first turn, you can even attack early.

Vulnerable before evolving

  1. Froakie
  2. Frogadier

Both Froakie and Frogadier have standard HP values, which makes them vulnerable to KOs before evolving if you don't draw Articuno. Adding Pokemon like Lapras to increase your wall Pokemon can help improve stability.

Greninja Deck Strategy

  1. Grow Froakie on the Bench
  2. Prioritize Energy for attackers
  3. Take down low HP Pokemon from the Bench
Grow Froakie on the Bench
  1. Froakie
  2. Articuno ex

Since Froakie has a low Attack damage of 10, it's best to place a wall Pokemon in the Active Spot while developing Froakie on the Bench. A Pokemon that can also attack while serving as a wall is ideal.

Prioritize Energy for attackers
  1. Articuno ex
  2. Greninja

Since Greninja can deal damage to opposing Bench Pokemon thanks to its Water Shuriken Ability, prioritize attaching Energy to your attackers first. With 1 Energy cost for retreating, you can quickly return to the bench even if Sabrina switches Greninja to the Active Spot.

Take down low HP Pokemon from the Bench
  1. Sabrina

When you have both Articuno ex and Greninja in the field, they may focus on knocking out Articuno ex first if it has low HP in the Active Spot instead of retreating. In this case, you can use Sabrina to switch with a Bench Pokemon and take down the low HP Pokemon from the Bench to efficiently deal damage.
