What Is Pokemon Nature?

A Feature That Determines Pokemon Stats

What Is Pokemon Nature

Nature is a fixed feature in a Pokemon that determines an increase or decrease in its statistics. For example, Pokemon with a specific nature can have a higher Attack and a lower Defense.

Example of Pokemon's Nature - Alakazam

An Alakazam naturally has high Sp. Attack & Speed. To complement this and make an Alakazam more powerful in combat, it should have a Modest or Timid Nature - boosting either its Sp. Attack or Speed statistic to make it faster & stronger.

Example of Pokemon's Nature - Poliwrath

Being a damage dealer, an Poliwrath with a Adamant Nature will make it boost its attack capability while minimizing the risk by degrading the lesser used Sp. Atk. This will lower the Poliwrath's special attack damage, but will not be much issue due to Poliwrath being less dependant on Special attacks.
