When facing Bruno, combat will focus around his Fighting Type Pokemon. Arm yourself with strong Psychic and Grass/Water Pokemon to exploit his Pokemons' weaknesses.

You'll have to face an additional Pokemon in Bruno's roster - an Alola Golem. The Alola Golem is four times weaker to Ground Type moves so badger it with these attacks until it goes down.

Bruno's Pokemon Have +10 Levels

When you fight Bruno again, his Pokemon are 10 Levels higher already. Be sure to properly level your own so you can head into battle with confidence!

Bring Out Water Or Grass Type Pokemon

Bruno's Onix suffers x4 damage from Water or Grass Type attacks. You can instantly take them down with your own powerful Grass or Water Type Pokemon.

Exeggutor IconExeggutorExeggutor can deal both Grass & Psychic Type of damage, making it an effective Pokemon to have in this battle with Bruno.
Mega Venusaur IconMega VenusaurIf you have Venusaur in your party, don't forget to Mega Evolve it during combat. Mega Venusaur boosts the stats that normal Venusaur has, making him more powerful in this fight.

Finish The Battle With Psychic Types

Bruno's Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Machamp are weak to Psychic Type of Pokemon. Bring a couple of these and you'll defeat him in no time.

Using Partner Pokemon

Your partner Pokemon may not be the best to use in this fight as their types & moves are not effective against Bruno's Fighting Pokemon.

Eevee IconEeveeEevee may be able to cause paralysis with "Buzzy Buzz" but its Electric Type move won't do much damage. Other Pokemon should be used to fight Bruno.

vs. Bruno Play Tips

Utilize Strong Grass Or Water Pokemon Against Onix

You can immediately bring down Onix as soon as it enters the field by hitting it with a strong Water or Grass Type of attack. It suffers x4 damage from these types of moves.

Deal Psychic Damage To Fighting Types

Bruno's Fighting Pokemon will suffer a great amount of damage from Pokemon that have Psychic Type attacks so don't forget to have some in your lineup.
