How to Use Pokemon Type Chart

ex. Attacking "Diglet" with a "Thundershock" Move

  • (1)Thundershock is an "Electric" type move. Look for "Electric" icon on the vertical axis.
  • (2)Diglet is a "Ground" type Pokemon. Look for "Ground" icon on the horizontal axis.
  • (3)The place where the each axis cross is marked with an "×", meaning all damage will be negated.

ex. "Moltres" was hit with a "Rock Throw" Move

  • (1)Moltres is a "Fire" and "Flying" type Pokemon, Look for "Fire" and "Flying" icon on the horizontal axis.
  • (2)Rock Throwis an "Rock" type move. Look for "Rock" icon on the vertical axis.
  • (3)The place where the "Fire" and "Rock" is marked with a "◯", and "Flying" and "Rock" is also marked with a "◯". This results in Moltres taking 4 times the normal damage.

*Two = x4 Damage. Two = x0.25 Damage.

About Resistances / Weakness in Pokemon Let's Go

4 Types of Damage Resistance / Changes

◯ represents "Super-effective", dealing twice its normal damage. △ represents "Not very effective", dealing half of its normal damage. × represents "No effect", negating all damage and effect of the move.

Each Move Has Specific Types

Each moves the Pokemon uses in battle has their own specific types. In a Pokemon Battle, you will need to choose which moves to use depending on the type of your opposing Pokemon, and your moves

Doubled Resistance Effects Damage Output

Some Pokemons who are assigned with 2 types has a risk of being dealt quadruple damage when both types' weaknesses are exploited. On the other hand, if this Pokemon was hit with a move that is "Not very effective" for both types, only a quarter of the damage will be dealt to this Pokemon.
