Battle the heat of Blaine's Fire-Type Pokemon in Cinnabar Island's Gym. Bring Water-Type Pokemon to douse the flames and beat his roster.

Water, Ground & Rock Types Are Recommended

Blaine's Fire Pokemon have really strong attacks that can pin you down & damage you for several turns. Using powerful Water, Ground, or Rock Type Pokemon will help you counteract his moves.

Recommended Pokemon

PokemonDescription
Vapoeron IconVaporeonVaporeon has a powerful Water Type attacked called "Hydro Pump" that it learns at Level 45. It's can easily bring down any Fire Pokemon.
Blastoise IconBlastoiseBlastoise can deal both water & physical damage with "Aqua Tail" which it learns at Level 32.
Starmie IconStarmieStarmie has high speed & is a Water Type, making it an effective contender in your fight against Blaine.
Golem ImageGolemGolem is doubly effective against Blaine being a Ground/Rock Type. Earthquake and Rock Slide will make short work of Fire Pokemon.
Rhydon ImageRhydonRhydon can tank the damage from Fire Pokemon while dealing super effective Rock and Ground attacks.
Dugtrio ImageDugtrioDugtrio can be a highly effective Pokemon in this fight. Teach it "Dig" or level it up to learn "Earthquake" in order to wipe Blaine's Fire Types onto the floor.

Using Partner Pokemon Not Ideal

Unless your partner Pokemon is extremely over leveled, it may not be the best to bring in this fight. If you choose to do so, try to utilize its element specific attacks!

Partner Pokemon

PokemonDescription
Pikachu IconPikachuThough not the most ideal, Pikachu can deal Water Type damage with "Splishy Splash". This move can also paralyze its targets.
Eevee IconEeveeThough not the most effective in this fight, Eevee has an exclusive technique called "Bouncy Bubble" that does Water Type damage. It can also heal Eevee.

vs. Blaine Play Tips

Use Pikachu's Partner Move - "Splishy Splash"

Pokemon Let

In the Pikachu version of the game, Pikachu has a partner move called "Splishy Splash". This deals Water Type damage & has a chance of paralyzing its opponents.

Use Eevee's Partner Move - "Bouncy Bubble"

Pokemon Let

In the Eevee version of the game, you can use a partner moved called "Bouncy Bubble". It has Water Type damage and will also heal Eevee for a set amount of HP, depending the damage this move causes.

Douse Blaine's Fire Pokemon With Water Types

Your best bet in easily blowing through Blaine's fiery roster is to use Water Type Pokemon. Fire attacks are ineffective against them and they can deal extremely strong damage.
