Iron Ore can be obtained by chance from gathering points. The locations of these points change randomly when you enter/exit an area or save/load, so you'll need to patiently run through the area.
Save/Reload Farming in The Aerie is Also an Option

Steps | |
---|---|
1. | Enter The Aerie and save at the save point |
2. | Check all the gathering points (★) |
3. | [If you didn't get Iron Ore] Select Load from the options menu and return to step 1. [If you got Iron Ore] - If you have enough, you're done. - If not, move to the Northern Plains and return to step 1. |
Loading is Done from Options -> Other

When farming in The Aerie (reload marathon), use the save and load functions. Using save & load will reset the contents of the gathering points, allowing you to farm Iron Ore time-efficiently.
Buying at the Junk Heap is a Last Resort

Price | 1000G |
---|
Iron Ore can also be purchased from the brothers' shop in the Junk Heap. However, the price is high considering the huge amount you need, so it's best used as a last resort when you're just a little short.
