How to Cultivate & Unlock Conditions

Unlock After a Trip to the Store 1 Quest

Quest

The field in the protagonist's home garden becomes available as a reward for the A Trip to the Store 1 quest, which can be done in Part One. The quest is simple, just requiring you to buy items, so be sure to clear it.

Unlock 3 Plots With a Trip to the Store 2

By clearing A Trip to the Store 2, which can be challenged right after clearing A Trip to the Store 1, the number of rows in your field will increase. This allows you to grow more crops, so clearing this quest is also recommended.

Unlock by Buying the Cultivator's Handbook

If you enter Part Two without clearing the 'A Trip to the Store' quests in Part One, buy the 'Cultivator's Handbook' sold in the protagonist's village. Buying it will allow you to expand the field up to three plots.

Use fertilizer on the field

Fertilizer

As a preparation for growing crops, use fertilizer on the field. Different fertilizers have different effects, so buy the one with the effect you want. You need to use it on each spot where you plant seeds.

Fertilizer Effects

NameEffect
Speedy FertilizerShortens growth time
Flowering FertilizerExtends the time from flowering to harvest
Bountiful FertilizerIncreases harvest yield

Sow seeds

Sowing seeds

After using fertilizer, let's sow the seeds. You can sow 5 seeds per row. After sowing, you can water them by examining the plot. Watering can slightly increase the harvest yield.

Wait Until They Are Ready to Harvest

Waiting

Once you've sown the seeds, all that's left is to wait for them to grow. They grow in real time, and depending on the crop, it will take about 1 to 3 days until harvest.

Approach the crops to harvest

Crops

When they are ready for harvest after some time has passed, approach them to harvest. After they wither, you can collect seeds or bulbs.

How to Save Time on Cultivation

Saving Time Using Time Zones

※This may disrupt the game balance

How to
1.[Open console settings]
Settings → Date and Time → Select Time Zone
2.Select "UTC-11:00 American Samoa"
3.[Return to the game]
Plant the desired seeds
4.Save or move out of the current area
5.[Open console settings]
Select "UTC+23:00 Independent State of Samoa"
6.[Return to the game]
Load or return to the area
7.Time skip complete!(Up to a maximum of 24 hours)

By manipulating the PS4 console's time, you can shorten the time required by up to 24 hours. This is useful for growing Moonflowers and for money farming.

Changing the time is no longer possible

In the PS3 version, you could skip any amount of time instantly by adjusting the console's time settings. However, this is no longer possible in the PS4 version.

Use Speedy Fertilizer

Fertilizer

By using Speedy Fertilizer on the field, you can accelerate the growth of planted crops. This shortens the time to harvest, allowing for a smoother harvesting process than usual.

Recommended Crops for Cultivation

Moonflower

Moonflower

Moonflowers are items required for quests and unlocking trophies. They can only be obtained through cultivation, so it's a good idea to prepare them before you need them. You can create rare colors through cross-breeding, so you'll need to cultivate them many times.

Rice Plant (Rice)

Planting a Rice Plant can produce about 10 Rice, which sell for 300G each. You can mass-produce them by adjusting the time zone, allowing you to make a profit of 2,940G per plant. It's an efficient way to make money, so it's a good option if you're short on cash.

Items Used in Quests

Some crops are used as delivery items for quests. However, many of them can also be purchased at stores, so if you don't want to spend time, it's faster to buy them.
