This is a list of movement methods in NieR Replicant (Remake/PS4). We cover whether there is fast travel, as well as the unlock conditions for boars, desert wells, and boats, plus how to move quickly on foot and navigate the map.

Is There Fast Travel?
Allows Movement to Specific Locations
In NieR Replicant, there is a fast travel feature that allows you to move from one specific location to another. Use it when you want to travel within a vast area or across different areas.
Cannot Warp to Any Location
Unfortunately, even in Ver. 1.22, a warp-like feature to move from any location to any other location has not been implemented. When running around the map, use the "Boar" or the fast movement methods described below.

Boar

To ride a boar, you . It's a very tough enemy when the quest first becomes available, so either use magic to defeat it from a distance or challenge it after you've become stronger.
Fast Travel Across the Northern and Southern Plains
The boar is a means of transportation available only in the Northern and Southern Plains. High-speed movement (R2) and changing direction by drifting (L2) are possible. Also, you can knock away enemies while moving at high speed.
Facade's Raft

It's a bit of a stretch to call it a mode of transport, but there is a raft (or is it a boat?) that lets you travel within Facade. Use it when you want to get around inside the city.
Desert Well

The desert well becomes usable by speaking to the advisor after clearing the Barren Temple. The advisor is in the King's Mansion, so go there after the post-Barren Temple event is over.
A Shortcut for Desert Travel
The desert well is a facility that allows you to instantly travel between the wells located within the desert. It allows for comfortable travel across the vast desert, which is also helpful when progressing through quests.

Travel Between Docks is Possible
The boat is a facility that allows you to freely travel between the docks located in various areas. It reduces travel time between maps, enabling significant time savings.
How to Move Fast on Foot

Most of the travel in NieR Replicant is done on foot. Therefore, the travel time for quests and material gathering is enormous. If you want to shorten the travel time even a little, you can move faster by continuously rolling forward using the dodge action.
Fastest way is Dodge -> Dash Attack -> Dodge

In addition to the dodge action mentioned above, you can move at the fastest speed by combining it with a dash attack, performed by pressing the □ button while inputting a direction. However, be aware that the controls become a bit hectic, and pressing the attack button repeatedly will lead to a loss of time so be careful.

The dash function doesn't require complex controls, but it's not particularly fast. It's faster than walking, of course, but if you want to move quickly, we recommend repeatedly dodging.
