The Dock is Recommended
You can fish anywhere in the Desert, but the dock is recommended. You can move immediately after catching a fish and your view won't be obstructed by sandstorms.

Sardines become available at the tackle shop in Seafront after clearing the quest "The Fisherman's Gambit". It takes many tries to catch one, so it's a good idea to buy as many as you can.
Tips for Catching Rhizodont
Pull the Rod After the Bobber Moves 3 Times
The type of fish you can catch differs depending on the bite. Rhizodont is a fish that can be caught by pulling the rod after the bobber reacts 3 times. Ignore bites with 1 or 2 tugs.
Patience is Required
Since Hyneria also bites on Sardines after 3 tugs, it can take a very long time to encounter a Rhizodont. No matter how many Hyneria you catch, be patient and keep searching for Rhizodont.
Tilting the Stick Diagonally is Important
Compared to less difficult fish, you won't be able to deplete the Rhizodont's health gauge unless you tilt the stick in a more precise direction. Be mindful of tilting the stick in the diagonal direction opposite to the fish's position. The trick is to always look for the direction that reduces the health gauge.
