Aerodactyl ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Aerodactyl Ex is Powerful Attacker
  2. Consistently Boost Primeape's Damage
  3. Needs Counters Against Heavy Hitters

Aerodactyl Ex is a Powerful Attacker

  1. Pokemon TCG Pocket - Land Crush
  2. Pokemon TCG Pocket - Land Crush Damage

Aerodactyl ex can deal a respectable 80 damage for only 2 energy. It also has a moderate 140HP, making it a viable active slot Pokemon.

Evolving first is advantageous

Pokemon TCG Pocket - Primeval Law

An opposing Starmie ex or Primeape will have severe difficulties against Aerodactyl ex. While not very consistent, your opponent will often lose to your early tempo if you can manage to evolve first.

Consistently Boost Primeape's Damage

  1. Pokemon TCG Pocket - Reckless Charge
  2. Pokemon TCG Pocket - Fight Back

There are 2 copies of Mankey and only one copy of Mew ex, making it very likely to open each game with a Mankey. Use Mankey's attack to self-injure before evolving into Primeape to deal maximum damage.

Needs Counters Against Heavy Hitters

Pokemon TCG Pocket - Mewtwo Ex

Neither Aerodactyl ex nor Primeape can OHKO most Pokemon ex. Heavy hitters like Mewtwo ex are natural enemies since they can easily knock-out our Pokemon once the opponent's board has been set up.

Cover Weakness with Mew Ex

Pokemon TCG Pocket - Mew Ex

If you know the matchup, pre-emptively attach 2 energy to a benched Mew ex in preparation for the incoming heavy hitter Pokemon.

Aerodactyl ex Deck Strategy

  1. Dominate Early Game With Aerodactyl If Going First
  2. End The Game Quickly Using Primeape When Going Second
  3. Use Mew To Handle Strong Pokemon Threats
Dominate Early Game With Aerodactyl If Going First
  1. Aerodactyl ex
  2. Old Amber

If you’re going first, leverage the advantage of evolving early by aiming to bring Aerodactyl ex into the Active Spot on your second turn. Ideally, use X Speed to retreat your current Active Pokemon and start attacking with Aerodactyl ex to establish control.

End The Game Quickly Using Primeape When Going Second
  1. Mankey (Promo)
  2. Primeape

When going second, since you can’t prevent your opponent’s evolutions, aim for a fast attack by evolving Mankey into Primeape. Place Aerodactyl ex on the Bench to impose restrictions on your opponent’s Active Spot Pokemon while continuing the offensive.

Use Mew To Handle Strong Pokemon Threats
  1. Mew ex

To counter strong threats like Mewtwo ex or Charizard ex that can One-Hit KO Aerodactyl ex, attach Energy to Mew ex in advance. Respond when these Pokemon are brought to the Active Spot.
