What Is Fodder?
Fodder is a type of item that acts as food for animals you keep on your farm. You'll need to stock up your barn and coop with fodder in the event that you get a rainy day. Though it is possible to plant it on your farm like a regular crop, if you want to get it fast your best bet is to purchase it at the General Store.
Can Also Place In Silo
You can also keep fodder in silo, where you might get Deluxe Fodder. Silo are unlocked once you repair it in Area 3.Silo - How To Make & Unlock
How To Feed Animals & Livestock
Place In Fodder Dispenser
After obtaining fodder, put it into the food dispenser in your barn or coop. Note that fodder will be automatically consumed by your animals at 9:00 AM the next day. If you forget to let your animals out before 9am, they will eat up existing fodder, so be careful. How To Care For Animals Guide
Always Have Enough
If you get caught off guard by a rainy day and it just so happens to be Tuesday (when the General Store is closed), you might be out of luck. Animals that don't eat will become unhappy and won't produce items, so make sure you constantly have a large stockpile of fodder available.
Build An Auto-Feeder
You'll be able to build an auto-feeder machine later on that automatically get fodder from silos when you reach level 6 Animal Care. One feeder will require 3 Silver Ingots, which aren't too hard to come by at that point in the game. Make sure you set these up as soon as you can.
