Weavile ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Powerful Darkrai + Weavile combo
  2. Basic + Stage 1 deck structure reduces bad hands
  3. Mid-range damage pairs well with Cyrus

Powerful Darkrai + Weavile Combo

This deck leverages the Ability of Darkrai ex to deal damage to the opponent while keeping Weavile ex attacking consistently with 70 damage for 1 Energy. Since it can attack at a fast pace from the start, it is effective at overwhelming slower decks.

Activating by Turn 2 with Dawn

Transferring the Darkness Energy attached to Darkrai ex to the Active Spot's Weavile ex using Dawn is a very strong play. If conditions are met, you can start dealing 90 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon as early as turn 2.

Basic + Stage 1 Deck Structure Reduces Bad Hands

Another advantage of the Darkrai + Weavile deck is that it consists solely of Basic and Stage 1 Pokemon. Compared to decks that use Stage 2 Pokemon or multiple Stage 1 evolution lines, this deck has significantly higher consistency.

Mid-Range Damage Pairs Well with Cyrus

While mid-range damage decks often struggle against stall tactics, this deck can counter them effectively with Cyrus. Additionally, since it includes Spiritomb, you can spread damage across the opponent’s Bench and then use Cyrus on the next turn to bring out a target for a decisive attack.

Weavile ex Deck Strategy

  1. Use Weavile ex for a quick attack
  2. Chase down escaping Pokemon with Cyrus
Use Weavile ex for a Quick Attack
  1. Weavile ex
  2. Darkrai ex

Weavile ex can deal 70 damage with just 1 Energy when the condition is met. Place Weavile ex in the Active Spot and aim for a fast attack. If you attach Energy to Darkrai ex on the Bench, you'll be able to do damage consistently.

If you have Dawn, you can attach Energy to Darkrai ex and move it to Weavile ex, enabling high damage attacks from the second turn if you go first.

Starting with Spiritomb is a Good Idea

If you can't get Darkrai ex, start by attacking with Spiritomb. This will lower the HP of Pokemon on the Bench, allowing Weavile ex to deal high damage consistently.

Chase Down Escaping Pokemon with Cyrus
  1. Cyrus

Against high HP Pokemon, Weavile ex's attack alone may not be enough to knock them out, so they might retreat to the Bench. In that case, use Cyrus to bring them back into battle and push them towards being Knocked Out.
