Infernape ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Infernape ex’s 2-Energy 140 damage is powerful
  2. Use Dawn to transfer Energy and keep attacking with Infernape ex
  3. Excellent Giratina + Dawn + Infernape ex synergy

Infernape ex’s 2-Energy 140 Damage is Powerful

This deck revolves around the Attack of Infernape ex. While using Infernape ex’s Attack discards all Fire Energy, it deals a high 140 damage for just 2 Energy, making it highly cost-effective.

Use Dawn to Transfer Energy and Keep Attacking with Infernape ex

By using Dawn, you can transfer Energy from a Benched Pokemon to the Active Spot. If you attach Energy to a Pokemon other than Infernape ex in advance, you can continuously use Infernape ex’s Attack.

Excellent Giratina + Dawn + Infernape ex Synergy

Giratina has an Ability that reduces its retreat cost to zero if it has Energy attached. This makes it a strong combo when you attach Energy to Giratina, retreat it, and then use Dawn to transfer that Energy to Infernape ex.

Infernape ex Deck Strategy

  1. Use Giratina as a wall early on
  2. Evolve Infernape ex on the Bench
  3. Prepare Energy on the Bench
  4. Spam Infernape ex's Attack
Use Giratina as a Wall Early On
  1. Giratina
  2. Chimchar
  3. Spiritomb

Early on, it's ideal to have Giratina in the Active Spot and Chimchar on the Bench. If you don't draw Giratina, try putting Spiritomb or Chimchar in the Active Spot to attack.

Evolve Infernape ex on the Bench
  1. Monferno
  2. Infernape ex

If you draw Monferno or Infernape ex, evolve Chimchar. It’s also reassuring to place other Pokemon on the Bench, like Sabrina for switch counters.

Aggressive Playstyle is an Option

Infernape’s evolution line can attack with low Energy cost. If you can draw the evolution line and the opponent isn't rushing to attack, it’s also a good option to be aggressive.

Prepare Energy on the Bench

Infernape ex's attack discards all Fire Energy, so make sure to attach Energy to other Pokemon on the Bench.

Spam Infernape ex's Attack
  1. Infernape ex
  2. Dawn

Once you're ready, start spamming Infernape ex's attack to take down the opponent's Pokemon. After using Infernape ex's attack and discarding all Energy, you can use Dawn to reattach Energy from the Bench to Infernape ex for repeated attacks.

Effectively Utilize Giratina’s Energy
  1. Giratina

Giratina's Ability makes its retreat cost 0 if it has Energy attached. By attaching Energy to Giratina in the Active Spot and retreating it, you can use Dawn to reattach Energy when needed.
