Machamp ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. High-Durability Attacker for Consistent Attacks
  2. 1-1-2 Game Plan Is Easy to Follow
  3. Limited Energy Availability

High-Durability Attacker for Consistent Attacks

  1. Machamp ex
  2. High-Durability Attacker for Consistent Attacks

This deck includes several high-HP Basic Pokemon. Kangaskhan and Machop are particularly useful as they can attack with just one Energy, making them reliable defenders and damage dealers while Machop is prepared on the Bench.

1-1-2 Game Plan Is Easy to Follow

  1. Game Plan Is Easy to Follow 1
  2. Game Plan Is Easy to Follow 2

It takes time to build Machamp ex to its full attacking potential. Early and mid-game battles will rely on Kangaskhan and Machop, which naturally sets up a 1-1-2 point distribution, keeping the deck’s pace manageable.

Generally Avoid Using Retreat

Since Kangaskhan and Machamp ex lines require a lot of Energy to retreat, using Energy for retreating often delays their setup. In this deck, plan to keep the Pokemon in the Active Spot and attack until it gets Knocked Out.

Machamp ex Deck Strategy

  1. Start with Kangaskhan or Machop
  2. Raise Machamp ex on the Bench
  3. Let the opponent take Prizes in a 1-1-2 pattern
Start with Kangaskhan or Machop
  1. Kangaskhan
  2. Machop

At the start of the game, send Kangaskhan to the Active Spot, or Machop if Kangaskhan isn’t available. Both require only 1 Energy to use their attacks, so you can start attacking right away. If you have two Machops, one can serve as a wall to protect the other.

Raise Machamp ex on the Bench
  1. Machoke
  2. Machamp ex

Once you draw Machoke or Machamp ex, evolve the Machop on your Bench. Attach Energy to make sure they can attack right after evolving.

Use Machamp ex At The Last Stage
  1. Machamp ex

Once two of your Single-Prize Pokemon are Knocked Out, bring Machamp ex to the Active Spot. Use Kangaskhan to reduce the opponent’s HP to a point where Machamp ex can finish them off. At the same time, buy some time to set up your strategy and let the opponent take Prizes in a 1-1-2 pattern.
