  2. 1-1-2 Game Plan Is Easy to Follow
  3. Limited Energy Availability

High-Durability Attacker for Consistent Attacks

  1. Machamp ex
  2. High-Durability Attacker for Consistent Attacks

This deck includes several high-HP Basic Pokémon. Kangaskhan and Hitmonchan are particularly useful as they can attack with just one Energy, making them reliable defenders and damage dealers while Machop is prepared on the Bench.

1-1-2 Game Plan Is Easy to Follow

  1. Game Plan Is Easy to Follow 1
  2. Game Plan Is Easy to Follow 2

It takes time to build Machamp ex to its full attacking potential. Early and mid-game battles will rely on Kangaskhan and Hitmonchan, which naturally sets up a 1-1-2 point distribution, keeping the deck’s pace manageable.

Limited Energy Availability

Limited Energy Available

▲Holding out until Machamp is equipped with three Energy...

The deck lacks any Energy Acceleration tools, so Energy management is tight. Machamp’s retreat cost is also high, meaning that retreating it with Energy may severely hinder its development. This deck relies on the Pokémon in the Active Spot to keep attacking until they’re Knocked Out.

Machamp ex Deck Strategy

  1. Start with Hitmonchan or Kangaskhan in the early game
  2. Build up Machop on the Bench
  3. Continuously use Machamp ex's Attack
Use Hitmonchan or Kangaskhan in the Early Game
  1. Hitmonchan
  2. Kangaskhan

Send Hitmonchan or Kangaskhan to the Active Spot early on to buy time for Machamp ex to get set up. Since they only need 1 Energy to Attack, you can start dealing damage right away.

Develop Machop on the Bench
  1. Machop
  2. Machoke
  3. Machamp ex

Place Machop on the Bench and evolve it toward Machamp ex. Make sure to attach Energy in advance to be ready to Attack right after Evolving.

Spam Machamp ex's Attack
  1. Machamp ex

Once Machamp ex has 3 Energy, move it to the Active Spot and use "Mega Punch" continuously.

Using Non-ex Machamp as an Option
  1. Machamp

If you can't draw Machamp ex, consider the option of using the non-ex Machamp. Its "Seismic Toss" Attack does 100 damage, allowing you to One-Hit KO trending cards like Pikachu ex and Weezing, leveraging their weakness.
