Arbok Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Arbok and Pidgeot combo is powerful
  2. Strong against trendy Mewtwo ex
  3. There are many Evolve Pokemon, resulting in more accidents

Arbok and Pidgeot Combo is Powerful

  1. Arbok Attack
  2. Pidgeot's Ability

A very powerful combo is to use Pidgeot's Ability to force the Pokemon on the opponent's Bench to the Active Spot, and use Arbok's Attack to prevent them from retreating. If the summoned Pokemon cannot use Attack, it is also possible to unilaterally cause the Pokemon to be Knocked Out.

Strong Against Mewtwo EX Decks

  1. Arbok Attacks
  2. Use Arbok on Mewtwo EX

Arbok is strong against the currently popular Mewtwo Ex, and can be defeated with weakness in two attacks. Also, Ralts and Kirlia included can be one-hit KOed.

Many Evolved Pokemon Can Lead to a Higher Chance of Mishaps

  1. Pidgeotto
  2. Pidgeot
  3. Arbok

Since there are many Evolve Pokemon being used, it’s important to draw a balanced mix of Evolved sources and Evolved targets. One of the drawbacks is that it can take time to set up combos, and there’s a chance of losing without being able to evolve.

Arbok Deck Strategy

  1. Start with Pidgey if going first, and Ekans if going second
  2. Aim for Pokemon that aren't ready
  3. Change attackers flexibly
Start with Pidgey if going first, and Ekans if going second
  1. Pidgey
  2. Ekans

The Pokemon you start with changes based on whether you go first or second. If going first, it’s ideal to start with Pidgey and then attack with Pidgeotto on the second turn. If going second, start with Ekans, and attack with Arbok from the second turn.

Aim for Pokemon that aren't ready

This deck requires you to think about which Pokemon to knock out based on your opponent. Generally, target Basic Pokemon that haven't evolved or Pokemon that require a lot of Energy to attack, as they take longer to set up.

Change attackers flexibly
  1. Arbok
  2. Pidgeot

The main attacker is Arbok, but be prepared to attack with Pidgeot as well. Each has different additional effects and damage amounts, so consider which attacker would be more advantageous in each situation and switch as needed.
