Character stats in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is dictated through equipment. The better your equipment are, the higher your characters stats would be.
No Character Levels
The reason why stats in FFCC are purely based on equipment is because there are no character levels in the game. You character will have the same base stats regardless of how long you've been playing the game.
