Who Is Mog The Moogle?
Party Member In Single-Player Mode
Mog is your companion when you're adventuring through dungeons in single-player mode. He provides a variety of uses such as carrying the Chalice, casting magic, and even using maps or radars.
Can Be Groomed In Moogle House
Mog's fur can be painted and groomed in the Moogle House. This can dictate the type of magic he uses or the radar that appears when you explore dungeons.
What Can Mog Do For You
Carry Crystal Chalice
One of Mog's main roles in single-player mode is to carry the Crystal Chalice for you. This makes it easier to traverse through any dungeon when playing solo.
Use Magic Spells Alongside You
When he isn't carrying the Chalice, Mog will occasionally use magic to fight alongside you. He needs to absorb damage to charge and be able to cast magic.

Pompom Glows When Ready To Cast
Once Mog has received the required amount of damage, his Pompom will glow. When this happens, cast your magic and Mog will attempt to cast alongside you.
Change Radar When Painted
When Mog is painted, the type of radar on your map will change accordingly. If you're looking for a monster, treasure, or monster data, paint Mog in the right color.

Trim Hair In Moogle House
You can trim Mog's hair when you paint him in the Moogle House. Check the options in the upper part of the screen & use the scissors to trim his fur.
Dungeon Climate & Fur Length Affect Exhaustion
The dungeons that you explore will have different climates and each climate has an effect on Mog's exhaustion levels. The length of Mog's fur will also determine how tired he'll get, depending on the dungeon's climate.
Fur Length & Dungeon Climate Chart
Climate | Recommended Fur Length |
---|---|
Normal | - |
Hot | Short |
Cold | Long |
It's recommended to trim Mog's fur short when venturing into hot climate dungeons and keep it long when going into cold climate dungeons. This will greatly help slow down his exhaustion when carrying the Chalice.
