Summons a Massive Artifact Follower

Artifact Portalcraft is a deck that utilizes Artifacts to fight. While using cards that create Exact Copies of Artifacts for removal, burn damage, healing, and board development, the goal is to complete 'Masterwork Artifact Ω'.

Steps to Complete Masterwork Artifact Ω

  1. Use Artifact Recharge ⇒ Obtain 2 Gears of Ambition.
  2. Fuse Artifact Cards to a Gear ⇒ Transform into a corresponding 3-Cost Artifact.
  3. Fuse Artifact Cards to a 3-Cost Artifact
⇒ Transform into one of 3 types of 5-Cost Artifacts depending on the total Cost.
  4. Gather and Fuse the 3 types of 5-Cost Artifacts ⇒ Transform into Masterwork Artifact Ω.

Obtain 2 Gears

Portalcraft has multiple cards that add 'Gear of Ambition' or 'Gear of Remembrance' to your hand. First, play those cards to obtain 'Gear of Ambition' or 'Gear of Remembrance'.

Fuse Artifact Cards to a Gear ⇒ Create a 3-Cost Artifact

When you Fuse an Artifact Amulet to each Gear, 'Gear of Ambition' transforms into 'Striker Artifact', and 'Gear of Remembrance' transforms into 'Defense Artifact'.

Fuse to a 3-Cost Artifact ⇒ Transform into One of Three 5-Cost Artifacts

By Fusing Artifact Cards to 'Striker Artifact' and 'Defense Artifact', they transform into either 'Ominous Artifact α', 'Ominous Artifact β', or 'Ominous Artifact γ' depending on the total Cost of the Fused cards.

When you Fuse the other two types to 'Ominous Artifact α', it transforms into 'Masterwork Artifact Ω'.

Artifact Portalcraft - How to Play

Collect Gears in the Early Game

Artifact Recharge

In the early game, play cards that add low-Cost Gears to your hand, and prepare the materials for Ominous Artifact.

Fuse Early if You Have Flight of Icarus

Flight of Icarus

If you draw Flight of Icarus in the early game, create and apply it to an Ominous Artifact by turn 5. This will allow you to summon Artifacts with draw effects when you play Alouette, Doomwright Ward or Karula, Eternal Arts later, making it easier to build up your hand resources.

You Can Also Go for a Long Game with Flight of Icarus

Since there are more cards that can create an Exact Copy of Artifacts, by playing many Artifacts with draw, you can not only aim for a win with Masterwork Artifact but also adopt a long game plan of repeatedly playing Exact Copy Artifacts.

Apply Pressure with Exact Copy Artifacts in the Mid-Game

Alouette, Doomwright Ward

From the mid-game onwards, continue to collect Gears, and at key moments, put an Exact Copy of an Ominous Artifact onto the field with cards like Alouette, Doomwright Ward or Karula, Eternal Arts to build your field. If you can grant abilities to your Artifacts with Flight of Icarus or Carnelia, Ember of Darkness, your plays will become even more powerful.

Use Ominous Artifact γ Against Board Development Decks

Ominous Artifact γ

Against Decks that develop their board from the early to mid-game, create Ominous Artifact γ and wipe their field with its AOE.

Go on the Offensive with Ominous Artifact β if You Have a Hand that Can Finish the Game

Ominous Artifact β

If you have multiple sources of damage in your hand, and your opponent's Deck has low restore or board development capabilities, create Ominous Artifact β and aggressively reduce the enemy leader's Defense. However, if the opponent's Deck has high board development, be careful, as creating β will leave you with insufficient Gears to create γ, causing you to lose on the field..

Maintain Your Defense with α in Aggro Matchups

Ominous Artifact α

In matchups like Aggro Abysscraft or Rhinoceroach Forestcraft where you want to maintain high Defense, create Ominous Artifact α. If you can apply Flight of Icarus to α, you can also clear followers with Rush, creating a very strong defensive position.

Don't Fuse Your Gears Too Early

Striker Artifact

Since it's a strong play to decide which Artifact to create based on your opponent's moves, avoid immediately fusing the Gears you've collected. Especially when you have Ancient Cannon on the field or want to decide which Artifact to create after seeing your opponent's move, save your Gears without fusing them.

There Are Situations Where You Might Overdraw if Your Hand is Set

If you have the necessary Artifacts and multiple copies of Orchis, Newfound Heart or Ralmia, Sonic Boom in your hand, and you can already see a plan to finish the game by turn 10, you might choose not to Fuse, even if it means overdrawing on your next turn, in order to increase the number of destroys from Ancient Cannon.

Overdrawing When Using Cards that Add 2 Gears Separately

When creating γ or β by playing cards that retrieve 2 Gears, like Miriam, the Resolute or Artifact Recharge, over two turns, after playing the first card, end your turn with 9 cards in hand without fusing. This way, on the next turn, if you start by fusing, you can play the second Gear-retrieving card.

Fight by Flexibly Playing Exact Copy Artifacts

Ralmia, Sonic Boom

In the late game, fight by creating Exact Copies of the Ominous Artifacts you've collected and putting them onto the field according to the situation. Your win rate will increase if you can use different Artifacts based on your plan: α if you want to keep your Defense high, β to push the opponent into Masterwork Artifact range, and γ to clear the opponent's field.

Fight with Exact Copy Artifacts Rather Than Completing Masterwork Artifact

Depending on the matchup, it can be stronger to play a resource game by applying Flight of Icarus to your Exact Copy Artifacts rather than aiming for lethal with Masterwork Artifact Ω.

Create Two γs Against Board-Focused Decks

Against Decks with strong field pressure like Runecraft or Swordcraft, if you create two γs and counter with Ralmia, Sonic Boom, it will be difficult for them to rebuild a strong field after clearing yours, making it easier to force them to use resources like Evolution points.

Create α to Maintain Defense Against Aggro and Combo Decks

In matchups where you want to maintain your Defense, like against Aggro Decks, Rhinoceroach Forestcraft, or Storm Havencraft, you can also force a concede by playing α multiple times. Rhinoceroach Forestcraft can deal 20 damage once its combo pieces are assembled, but by applying field pressure along the way and forcing them to use Bayle, Luxglaive Warrior or Evolution points, you can make it harder for them to deal that 20 damage.

Finish with Masterwork Artifact

Masterwork Artifact Ω

By having the parts for Masterwork Artifact assembled by turn 10, you can constantly force your opponent to be wary of 10 damage. Parry opponents who play around Masterwork Artifact with cards like Ralmia, Sonic Boom or similar tools with fibrillation, and set up a situation where you can secure a win.

Acting Rashly is Dangerous

If you can't win even after playing Masterwork Artifact, you will lose resources and your ability to continue the fight will be greatly reduced. Either chip away at the opponent's health throughout the game so you can win with Masterwork Artifact, fight with other cards until they are in range, or set up a situation where you can continue fighting on subsequent turns before you play it.

Mulligan Guide for the Artifact Portalcraft

Keep Artifact Recharge, Alouette, and Flight of Icarus

Alouette is a Powerful Mid-Game Card

It's recommended to keep Alouette, Doomwright Ward individually as it's a strong mid-game play.

Flight of Icarus in the Early Game

Flight of Icarus is a card that greatly increases deck cycling, so you should keep it as it's powerful when attached to a AF in the early game.

Artifact Recharge is a Versatile

Artifact Recharge can reliably create an Artifact when you play Alouette, Doomwright Ward, and it's also necessary for playing Flight of Icarus in the early game, so it's recommended to keep it just in case.

Keep Low-Cost Gear Recovery Cards

It's recommended to keep 1-2 low-cost Gear recovery cards to efficiently recover Gear while maintaining field presence in the early game.

Keep Stream of Life in Aggro Matchups

Stream of Life

Artifact Catapult is a powerful card that recovers Gear and can develop your board with Artifacts from the mid-game onwards, but it's risky in Aggro matchups due to the early game tempo loss. It's recommended to keep Stream of Life instead.
