Hunting is Basically Repeated Encounters & Egg Hatching

Even though it's called shiny hunting, encountering a shiny is based on probability, so the only way is to repeatedly encounter wild Pokemon or hatch eggs.

Increasing Efficiency

Although it involves constant repetition, there are various ways to do it efficiently, such as hatching eggs effectively. If you want to hatch eggs efficiently, Poké Pelago's Isle Avue is recommended. You can hatch up to 18 eggs simultaneously there.

SOS Chaining 70+ Times Increases Shiny Rate

Using an Adrenaline Orb for SOS chaining 70 or more times increases the shiny rate. You might also get a shiny Pokemon with high IVs.

Masuda Method: The Highest Probability

The Masuda method involves breeding two Pokemon from different language versions of the game to produce an egg. Currently, the Masuda method offers the highest probability of hatching a shiny Pokemon.

Getting Shiny Pokemon in Ultra Wormholes

Shiny Pokemon Are Easier to Find in Ultra Wormholes

Ultra Wormholes become accessible in the latter half of the story. In Ultra Warp Ride, the farther you travel, the more likely you are to encounter shiny Pokemon.

Ultra Wormholes with Higher Shiny Rates

▲Ultra Wormhole where you can expect shinies

The appearance rate of shiny Pokemon varies depending on the flair of the Ultra Wormhole. It's recommended not only to travel as far as possible but also to carefully choose which Ultra Wormhole to enter.

Shiny Legendary Pokemon Also Appear in Warp Holes

In Warp Holes, you can also encounter shiny Legendary Pokemon. To find them, the best method is to reset, similar to IV hunting.

Shiny Hunting Procedure

  • 1. Enter an Ultra Wormhole of the color where the desired Pokemon appears.
  • 2. If you find it, save before the battle.
  • 3. Encounter it. If it's not shiny, reset and go back to step 2.

Some Pokemon Cannot Be Obtained as Shiny
