Why Soft Reset for Sub-Legendary Pokemon

Sub-Legendary Pokemon, unlike Legendary Pokemon, have the appeal of being usable in Rating Battles. Therefore, if you are going to soft reset, it is recommended to prioritize those with higher importance.

Recommendation Level Criteria

Recommendation LevelDescription
★★★Pokemon that are essential to soft reset for, considering the meta, to win in Rating Battles. Should be soft reset with the highest priority.
★★☆Not essential for Rating Battles, but having them expands the range of parties you can create. Pokemon you'll want to have in your PC Box.
★☆☆Pokemon whose use in Rating Battles is limited to specific parties or situations. It's not a loss to soft reset for them, but their priority is lower compared to others.

Preparation and Notes for Legendary Soft Resetting

Fixing Nature with Synchronize Abra

When soft resetting for Legendary or Sub-Legendary Pokemon, you first need to get an Abra with the Synchronize Ability. If a Synchronize Abra is at the front of your party, there's a 50% chance wild Pokemon will have the same Nature, making soft resetting easier.

Abra

[Caution]Retrying is Impossible

Legendary Pokemon that appear in the Ultra Wormhole cannot be re-battled once you've fought them. Always save before the battle, and if you defeat it or it doesn't have the desired stats, reset and try again.

Cannot Re-battle Even if You Flee

Also, be aware that you cannot re-battle even if you flee without defeating it. If you flee, reset without saving.

IVs Can Be Enhanced Later

You need to raise the Pokemon to Level 100, but if you have Bottle Caps or Gold Bottle Caps, you can max out its IVs after obtaining it. If you're having trouble finding one with the desired IVs, it's okay to compromise a bit.

Hidden Power is Omitted

To teach the move "Hidden Power," whose type changes depending on IVs, the ideal IVs will also change. Using Hidden Power requires even more detailed soft resetting, so it is omitted in this article.

Soft Resetting Procedure

  • 1. Place a Synchronize Abra with the desired Nature at the front of your party.
  • 2. Enter the Ultra Wormhole of the color where the target Pokemon appears.
  • 3. Once found, save before battling.
  • 4. Battle and capture it.
  • 5. Check its Nature and IVs.
  • 6. If it's not the ideal one, reset and start over from step 4.

The procedure is the same for all Sub-Legendary Pokemon.
