Breeding Method

What You Need for Breeding

The only thing you need for breeding Stakataka is a Pokemon with the Synchronize Ability. If you have a Pokemon with Synchronize at the front of your party when you encounter Stakataka, there's a 50% chance Stakataka will have the same Nature as the Synchronize Pokemon.

How to Obtain Stakataka

Stakataka can be obtained during the Ultra Recon Squad event after becoming the Champion.

Two Stakataka Can Be Obtained

You can obtain up to two Stakataka per playthrough.

Recommended to Catch Later

You can catch it when the event occurs, but by retreating both times, you can forcibly end the event and postpone breeding. It's difficult to prepare when the event occurs, so it's recommended to retreat both times and breed later.

Catch Method and Location Do Not Change

Even if you retreat both times and postpone breeding, you will still encounter and catch it in Poni Grove.

Breeding Procedure

  • Have your Synchronize Pokemon fainted and place it at the front of your party.
  • Place your battling Pokemon second in your party.
  • Go to Poni Grove.
  • (*) Use a Gold Spray and then save.
  • Enter the tall grass, encounter, and capture.
  • Check its Nature and actual stats.
  • If it's not ideal, reset (press L+R+Select simultaneously) and repeat from step 5.
*To avoid encountering Pokemon other than Stakataka.

Recommended Natures and Target Stats

Recommended Natures

Recommended NatureBrave Attack↑/Speed↓

Stakataka is characterized by its low Speed, and it's a Pokemon that can unleash its true power under Trick Room. [Brave], which raises Attack and lowers Speed, is recommended.

Trick Room

For 5 turns, Pokemon with lower Speed can attack first.

Learns Moves That Utilize Its Low Speed

Gyro Ball, a move Stakataka learns, deals more damage the lower your Speed is compared to the opponent's. By lowering its Speed, you can deal massive damage to the opponent.

Target Actual Stats

If Stakataka has the stats in the table below when you catch it, it's an ideal individual. Since Stakataka doesn't use Special Attack, a low Special Attack stat is not an issue. Also, to lower its Speed as much as possible, a Speed IV of 0 (No Good) is ideal.
