How to Use Marshadow

Conditional Firepower

Marshadow has a mediocre attack stat of 40 damage for 2 energy. However, this attack does a total of 100 damage if the opponent knocked out one of your Pokemon during the previous turn.

This gives Marshadow the highest-damaging attack amongst all basic Pokemon, assuming the conditions are met.

OHKO Pikachu Ex

Pikachu ex has 120HP and a weakness to Fighting-type Pokemon. This means that under the right conditions, Marshadow can OHKO Pikachu ex.

Marshadow Pros and Cons

High Damage if Conditions Are Met

Marshadow's Attack deals 40 damage for 2 Energy, which is average. However, if one of your Pokemon was Knocked Out by Attack damage during the opponent's previous turn, the damage increases to 100, making it one of the highest damage Basic Pokemon.

Powerful Bench Presence with 1 Energy

If you attach 1 Energy to Marshadow on the Bench, it can immediately deal 100 damage after your Active Spot Pokemon is Knocked Out. This makes it a very troublesome Pokemon for the opponent, so you’ll want to attach 1 Energy to it as soon as it’s placed on the Bench.
