Buy Gear Already Available At The Store
If the Gear you've already obtained is in the store, its Star Power can be increased. The store inventory changes daily, so patiently check it each day.
Give Super Sea Snail to Murch
Talk to Murch on the right side of the Lobby's front, and you will get the option to increase the Star Power of each Gear. Note that raising Star Power requires Super Sea Snails, which can only be obtained through Splatfest.
Can Also Raise Gear That Are Not On Sale
When talking to Murch, the Star Power of Gear that are not for sale can also be raised. However, since the amount of shells consumed will also increase, this should be done with caution.

Increasing Star Power increases Slots in Gear Abilities. When you find your favorite Gear, raose its Star Power to increase its slots!
More Gear Abilities Can Be Equipped
The more slots you have, the more Abilities you can equip in your Gear. A maximum of three slots can be unlocked and up to 3 abilities can be equipped. It's essential to get all Three Slots for your Gear.
Get More Gear Experience
Increasing the Star Power will increase the experience you get for your Gear. It is recommended to raise the Star Power of frequently used Gears as soon as you can!
