Brock Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Golem's Attack is Powerful
  2. Energy Acceleration is Possible with Brock
  3. It will be Tough If Geodude Appears First

Golem's Attack is Powerful

  1. Golem

Golem has an 150 damage move, which impressive for a Single-Prize type Pokemon. It's particularly powerful because it can one-hit KO most basic and Stage 1 Pokemon ex.

Be Careful as There Are Also Major Disadvantages

Golem's attack also reduces its own HP by 50 each time it is used. With an original HP of 160, a single hit won't cause fatal damage, but you need to carefully consider the risks and rewards when using it.

Energy Acceleration is Possible With Brock

  1. Brock

Brock can use Energy Acceleration on Golem, so it can speed up the turn to use Attack. Please note that it cannot be used in Geodude or Graveler state.

It will be Tough If Geodude Appears First

Geodude requires 2 retreat Energy, and its evolved form, Graveler, needs 3 Energy for its Attack. Even if you evolve it quickly, you may not be able to use its Attack right away. It is crucial to evolve Geodude on the Bench as much as possible.

Brock Deck Strategy

  1. Grow Geodude on the Bench
  2. Attach 2 Energy to Graveler
  3. Rely on Dugtrio against opponents focused on Single-Prize
Evolve Geodude On The Bench
  1. Geodude
  2. Graveler
  3. Golem

Start by evolving Geodude to Golem on the Bench. It would be troublesome if Sabrina brings it out, so try to have other Pokemon ready on the Bench besides Geodude to prevent this.

Attach 2 Energy to Graveler
  1. Graveler

Once Graveler has 2 Energy attached, you can evolve it into Golem next turn. With Attach Energy from Zone and Brock, you’ll be able to use the Attack. Since only one Supporter can be used per turn, if you have Sabrina, consider using it beforehand.

Rely On Dugtrio Against Opponents Focused On Single-Prize
  1. Dugtrio
  2. Hitmonchan
  3. Hitmonlee

If your opponent focuses on Single-Prize, it’s nearly impossible to score 3 points with Golem, so you’ll need to earn points with other Pokemon. In that case, focus your attack on Dugtrio, which can negate the opponent’s attacks. You can also use Hitmonlee to take out any escaped opponents.
