How to Use Raichu (Triumphant Light)

High Effective HP

Raichu has 90 HP and deals a total of 60 damage with 2 Energy, which is standard for a Stage 1 Pokemon. However, with Arceus, its effective HP can be considered 120, and if it avoids a One-Hit KO, it can effectively reach 150 or more.

Bench Attacker that Doubles as a Wall

If played early when the opponent's Attack damage is low, Raichu can likely survive for at least two turns. As a rare tank option among typically frail Lightning Pokemon, it can also be effective to pair it with Dawn to aim for Bench Attack plays when needed.

Raichu (Triumphant Light) Pros and Cons

Stage 1 Pokemon with Bench Attack

Raichu has 90 HP and can deal 40 damage to the Battle Pokemon while also hitting one Bench Pokemon for 20 damage with 2 Energy. While its total damage output is average, its ability to perform a Bench Attack makes it stand out.

Increased Durability with Ability

Raichu takes 30 less damage from attacks when Arceus or Arceus ex is on the field. While it is prone to getting One-Hit KO’d in the late game, it excels in early game fights.
