What are Pokemon Tools?

Pokemon Tools are equipment cards that activate their effects when attached to a Pokemon on your field. Like Energy, they remain on the field unless discarded by card effects or until the attached Pokemon leaves the field.

One Tool per Pokemon

You can only attach one Pokemon Tool per Pokemon. Once attached, it cannot be moved to another Pokemon or returned to your hand.

Separate from Items and Supporters

Pokemon Tools are a type of Trainer card. Trainer cards also have Items and Supporters, which are separate types of cards.

Considered as an Item in the Physical Pokemon Cards

In the past, Pokemon Tools were considered as Items in the Physical Pokemon cards. Since Pokemon TCG Pocket is mostly based on the latest Physical rules, it seems that Pokemon Tools will still be treated as a separate category from Items in Pokémon.

Not implemented in Pokemon TCG Pocket Yet

Currently, there are no "Pokemon Tools" cards implemented in Pokemon TCG Pocket. However, since categories are already prepared in the in-game search function, it seems likely that they will be implemented in the future.

Possibly Implemented on 1/29 (PST)

In the Booster Pack "Space-Time Smackdown" launching on Jan 29 (PST), the attack effect of Pachirisu ex includes the phrase "Pokemon Tool." This suggests that Pokemon Tools will likely be implemented alongside the new booster pack.
