Helix Fossil Pros and Cons

Avoid Placing In The Active Spot

Helix Fossil has a very low HP of 40 for a Basic Pokemon and cannot attack or retreat. It's best kept on the Bench until you evolve it into Omanyte instead of placing it in the Active Spot.

Compatible With Single-Pokemon Decks

Fossil cards like Helix Fossil can be included in single Pokemon decks that consist solely of two Pokemon ex. In such decks, if your opponent uses Sabrina and brings out the Pokemon ex with less Energy, you may find yourself at a disadvantage. However, by playing a Fossil card when you bring out the second Pokemon ex to the Bench, you can counteract Sabrina's effect. If one of your Pokemon is knocked out, make sure to discard the Fossil card.
