How To Get Weed Stem Recipe
In order to get access to Weed Stems, you will need to have the Level 2 Tool known as the Insect Axe. This will allow you to cut down plants that produce Weed Stems. Afterwards, you'll have to carry them back home just like you would Grass Planks.
Cut Weeds Or Dandelions
Weed Stems can be obtained by cutting down specific plants which have a brown-colored stem. These include regular weeds as well as Dandelions. The amount of Weeds dropped depends on the size of the plant. Bigger plants will give you 15, while smaller weeds may only give you 5.
Weed Stem Locations
There isn't a particular area where Weeds can be found in abundance. We recommend simply wandering around the map and looking for them! You should be able to find them in due time.

According to a post made by this reddit user, whether or not you totally cut down the stem of a weed plant seems to have an effect on the respawn timing of that weed. We have not confirmed this yet but will be running tests soon.
Storing Weed Stems
Weed Stems can be stored using a Log Pallet, allowing you to neatly place them in a given location. This is highly recommended, as having them lying around in your base is a huge nuisance.

Unsurprisingly, Weed Stems are largely used for Base Building crafting! You will be able to produce sturdier structures and, most importantly, finally be able to build stairs, which give you access to higher elevation, multi-story buildings!
