Completing challenges will reward you XP.
Play Differently In Each Game
There are so many unique conditions that require you to play differently. There are conditions such as getting kills while sliding, getting kills by certain characters/weapons etc.
How To Confirm Challenges
Push "Option" Key when in lobby in the multiplayer mode, and switch the tab to "Challenge". Check which ones are nearest to completion and do those for some quick XP.

How To Confirm Rewards In Game
Go to the multiplayer lobby and press "option" button to open the menu. Then check "PROGRESS AND UNLOCK".
Enter Prestige When Maxing Out Your XP
When reaching the limit of XP, you can then enter Prestige. Level is reset when you enter Prestige and you can get various rewards as you grind your level. At max, there are 10 stages of Prestige.
Recommended Game Modes To Level Up
Free For All Mode
It's easier to farm experience in Free For All Mode as players only need to go through one match to get points. With respawn available, you can continue grinding points & eliminations within the allotted time limit.

Since players will most likely move towards the hardpoint, it's easier to score kills. Kills made at hardpoints also give higher points. Plus, matches take a lot longer, giving you more opportunity to earn points and XP.

Simply, you can have more weapon attachment options when you improve your weapon level. More powerful attachments like operator mods are available at higher levels, which can significantly improve a weapon.

Kill Enemies
Killing enemies will reward you with some XP that can help you level up as well. The more enemies you kill, the more XP you get to level up! There is a way to boost XP by being in one of the top survivors, but it takes time and in contrast, diving into map then trying to get kills is more efficient!
