Defeating monsters in Mongil: STAR DIVE can sometimes allow you to capture them! Read on for more capturing details and see the rewards and benefits of capturing monsters!
How to Capture Monsters
- Go to the target monster's location
- Defeat the monster
- Capture the Monster's Essence
Go to the target monster's location
Check the location of the monster you want to capture on the Map or in the Monster Codex, and head to its location.
Defeat the monster
Once you arrive at the monster's location, defeat it.
Capture the Monster's Essence
When you defeat a monster, a glowing blue essence
may appear, so approach it and press Capture.
| Point! | If you're having trouble capturing a monster, raise your Nyanners Level to increase your Capture Proficiency. |
How to Locate Monsters
Use the Map
Opening the Map will reveal the locations of monsters. Each monster is denoted by their icon, so open up the map to check for which monsters are found in each location.
Check the Monster Codex
Visit a monster's entry in the Monster Codex and press the "Source" button located on the bottom right page for a pop-up where you can review that monster's spawn location/s and other sources. This is most useful when you know the monster's name but not its location.
Benefits of Capturing Monsters
Increases Nyanners' Level
Capturing monsters grants Nyanners Level experience. After reaching a certain amount of experience, Nyanners will level up, and you'll receive benefits such as level-up rewards and increased Capture Proficiency for rare monsters.

- Increases monster Capture Rate
- Better chances for high-rank Monsterlings
- Unlocks craftable Link Chains
- Receive Cords of Fate as level-up rewards
Unlocks Link Chain Crafting
By capturing specific monsters, you can unlock and craft their Link Chains. Note that crafting Link Chains requires a specific Nyanners Level and materials.
Link Chain Guide & Best Monsterlings
Codex Progress Rewards
As you capture more monsters, information will be added to the Monster Codex, and your Progress
percentage will increase. At certain milestones, you'll receive rewards like Cords of Fate and Starlight Crystals.
Complete Related Achievements
There are achievements for capturing a certain number of monsters, and completing them will reward you with Starlight Crystals.
