Team Composition Tips
Create a Balanced Team of Roles

In Mongil: STAR DIVE, effective team composition depends on maintaining a balance between Fighters, Destroyers, and Supports. Even at higher levels, an unbalanced lineup will struggle to win.
Example of a Balanced Team
| Slot 1 | Slot 2 | Slot 3 |
| Fighter or Assassin | Destroyer | Support |
This is an example of a team composition capable of handling a wide range of content, including the Main Quest. The core strategy is to rotate between characters in sequence, making effective use of their Switch Skills.
Match Elements Within the Team

All characters can apply an Element DMG Affliction debuff that matches their own Element. This increases the active character’s damage, and by aligning the Elements across your team, you can boost overall damage output more efficiently.
Element DMG Affliction Effect Is Fixed
The "Element DMG Affliction" debuff has a fixed effect and duration, regardless of character progression. With a 15% damage increase, it is highly impactful, so even when focusing on a single attacker, aligning team Elements provides significant benefits.
Be Mindful of Character Order

Some characters, such as Supports, can assist the next character through their "Tag-out Skill." Since you typically rotate characters in sequence, it is recommended to place a DPS after a character that provides support.
Switch to a Specific Character
| Controller | D-Pad Up/Down/Left/Right |
| Keyboard/Mouse | Number Keys 1-4 *Default Setting |
You can also switch to a specific character regardless of the set order. However, this is more difficult to do, so it is generally more efficient to rotate to the next character in sequence.
Build the Right Team for the Content
| Role | Features |
Fighter | Best for Large Enemy Waves - Damage scales with the number of enemies and allies - Many characters have skills that can gather enemies |
Destroyer | Best for Boss Disruption - Efficient at filling the Stagger gauge - Specialized for boss encounters |
Assassin | Best for Fast Boss Clears - High damage against incapacitated enemies - Synergizes well with Destroyers in boss battles |
Support | Best for High-Damage Enemy Encounters - Provides healing and buffs to allies - Boosts damage after switching characters |
If you already know the content you want to clear, consider how well it aligns with your team’s Roles when building your setup. In particular, the effectiveness of a Destroyer varies significantly depending on whether a boss is present.
Match Attackers to Weakness

Enemies have elemental weaknesses, and exploiting them significantly increases damage. While developing new characters can be resource-intensive, raising attackers of multiple Elements expands the range of content you can effectively handle.
Balance Control Time

The time required to reach peak performance varies by character. For example, characters like Cloud, who rely on self-buffs and unique stacking mechanics, require longer setup time, so be careful not to build a team with inefficient Switch Skill rotations.
Controls Can Change with Awaken
Depending on a character's Awaken status, their skill rotation and control requirements can change significantly. When building a team, it is recommended to test each character before investing in their development.
How to Increase Team Slots
Increase Max Teams in Settings

You can increase the maximum number of teams by tapping the "+" icon on the Team screen and consuming Starlight Crystals. Use this when you want to save six or more team compositions.
Starlight Crystal Cost
| Times Unlocked | Starlight Crystals Required |
| 1st Time (6th Slot) | 100 |
| 2nd Time (7th Slot) | 200 |
| 3rd Time (8th Slot) | 400 |
| 4th Time (9th Slot) | 800 |
| 5th Time (10th Slot) | 1600 |
This shows the number of times team slots can be expanded and the required Starlight Crystals for each upgrade. You can increase team slots up to a maximum of five, with the cost doubling each time, starting from 100 Starlight Crystals.
