What Is Difficulty Level?
3 Levels Of Difficulty
In Minecraft Dungeons, players are free to set the difficulty of a level or dungeon they'll be running. There are a total of three difficulties with Default being the easiest and Apocalypse as the hardest.Check Out All Level / Environment Types!
Each Difficulty Has 6 Sub Difficulties
Players will also be able to further set the difficulty of the game by choosing between 1 ~ 6. The lower the number, the lower the recommended power level is!
Difficulty Affects Enemy Levels & Strength
The higher the difficulty, the stronger the enemies will be in a level. You will see a significant jump between their levels in harder difficulties, requiring players to also have higher levels.Check Out All Mobs / Enemies List!
Has Different Recommended Levels
Each difficulty and sub-difficulty will show a recommended level and overall recommended team power. This will be your indication if you & your team can run a dungeon in a specific difficulty.
May Effect Loot Drops
The drops you get from levels may be affected by the difficulty that you're running them in. If you're gunning for better loot, doing the levels in higher difficulties may be recommended!

How To Change Difficulty
Set Before Running A Level
Initially, only Default difficulty is unlocked. Players can set the sub-difficulty right before they run a dungeon. You can find it at the side panel where the details of the dungeon are listed.Check Out Level Environment Types Here!
Cannot Be Changed Mid-Level
You won't be able to change the difficulty while inside a dungeon. Make sure you've set it in a difficulty that you can win against or you or your team will be wiped out.
Unlock New Difficulties
Once you clear the game on Default difficulty, you will unlock Adventure difficulty. Clearing the game in Adventure mode will then unlock Apocalypse Mode. These tougher difficulties can be chosen via the lower right button on the overworld map.
