- Select Bug Catching in the Ability Wheel.
- Hold down the Catch Button and move stealthily toward the bug.
- Release the Catch Button when the net glows to successfully capture a bug.
- Bugs Can Also Be Captured While Dashing or Jumping.
To catch bugs in Infinity Nikki, hold down the Change Ability button to open the Ability Wheel and select Bug Catching.
The Bug Catching ability is unlocked following Nonoy's event in Chapter 1 of the main quest. You can acquire the outfit sketch using the Heart of Infinity, then you can craft the Bug Catcher outfit.
Hold down the Ability Button and move toward the bug you are about to catch. This will allow you to move quietly and approach the bug without being noticed.
When Nikki's net starts to glow, it's the perfect moment to catch a bug. Release the Catch Button right away to make a successful catch. These bugs are valuable crafting materials for your clothings.
How to Gather Materials
Unlike other abilities, Bug-Catching allows you to swing your net while jumping or dashing. Use it to catch insects flying at high places or fast-flying insects.

Approach Cautious Insects From Afar
Most insects will escape as soon as Nikki approaches them, so try pressing the ability button from a distance and then move closer. The "Socko" in particular is very wary and will flee quickly, so it's better to remember where they appear.
Some Bugs Only Appear at Night
Some bugs only show up during certain times. Use the material tracking feature so you can find out what time of the day they will appear when collecting crafting materials.
