What is Battle in Arknights?
Prevent Enemies from Reaching Goal
As Tower Defense Game, the main goal of battle in Arknights is to prevent enemies from reaching the goal or the blue box in levels. This is done by deploying Operators to the field.
Level Layouts during Battle
In every battle, there are enemy spawns and goals. Red boxes are enemy spawns and blue boxes are goals that you should defend. You'll also see a line of movement from enemy spawns that will dictate where they will go.
Deploy Operators to Stop Enemies
Enemies will not stop their assault until you defeat them. Deploy Operators to attack and stop them from reaching the blue goal.

Every time you deploy an Operator, it will consume costs. Operators have different costs depending on their levels. Create teams of low and high cost Operators to win!
Get 3 Stars by Defeating All Enemies
Although you won't lose the battle immediately when an enemy passes the blue line, you won't be able to get three stars for this. Make sure to take down all enemies that will appear to get 3 stars and unlock the Auto Battle function.

Each Class has a Specific Function
Although all Operators are unique due to their skills, they all fall under a class that dictates their roles in battle. Learning the difference between classes is essential to winning battles!

Learn the Skills of Your Operators
Every Operator comes with a skill that you can activate in battle. Remember to familiarize yourself with your team's skills to be able to use them efficiently during battle.
Make Use of the Pause Function
If you're feeling overwhelmed during the battle, you can take a breather and use the pause option. This will stop the battle, but you won't be able to deploy or move Operators.
Tips to Winning Battles
Deploy the Right Operator for the Enemy Type
Operators' effectiveness depends on the enemy they are fighting. Remember to check enemy types before the match. For example, physical attacks are weak to armored enemies, but magic is strong against them.

Do not spread out your Operators too thin. Make sure to cover all spaces that enemies can pass to the goal to stop them from advancing.
Use Snipers / Casters for their Range
One of the best classes at the start are Snipers because of their overall range, they can take down all kinds of enemies, and the they are often out of range from enemies.
Withdraw Operators when Needed
There's nothing wrong with withdrawing Operators from the fight to relocate them. Just make sure that the area they're covering is covered when you withdraw them.
