1. Village Square - Tips

Cross Towards Village Square Using Building Roofs

Cross Towards Village Square Using Building Roofs

There will be many enemies in this area so it's best to use the building roofs to make your way safely to the village square.

2. Cherry Blossom Trees - Tips

Follow Cherry Blossom Trees From Village Square

Once you reach the village square, look for the Cherry Blossom trees. Follow their direction to reach the Ashina Depths Water Mill. Don't forget to drop down and grab the items by the foot of the trees.

Mibu Balloon of Wealth Pop balloon to increase enemy Sen drop for a time
Pacifying Agent Reduces Terror buildup & increases Terror resistance for a time
Fistful of Ash Throw at an enemy to distract them shortly
Gourd Seed Given to Emma to increases Healing Gourd uses

1Follow the road next to the Sculptor's Idol - you'll encounter O'Rin of the Water(*)
2Go through the Torii Gate to start the battle with the Corrupted Monk
3Go past the Sculptor's Idol (Wedding Cave Door) to another cave to retrieve the Shelter Stone

(*)O'Rin of the Water is a skippable mini boss.

You can find O'Rin of the Water on the left side of the village square. If you talk to her or ignore her, it would still start a battle, however, you can avoid fighting her by passing through a bridge in the back.

After passing O'Rin of the Water, you will see a big house on your right and a Torii Gate on your left. If you pass under the Torii Gate, you'll encounter the Corrupted Monk.

O'Rin of the Water Boss Fight Tips

Initiate Battle With Powerful Charged Thrust

O'Rin of the Water will not attack you unless you talk to her or ignore her. You can initiate the battle and already damage her HP by implementing a powerful Charged Thrust.

Do Long Guards To Protect Against Attacks

This enemy will have many variations of attacks and some of them can be quite long. It's recommended to hold your guard during her series of attacks to bring her Posture down & open her up for a Deathblow.

You can avoid O'Rin of the Water's Perilous Attack by jumping! This opens her up for a moment and you can deal damage to her.

Keep Distance To Trigger Monk's Jump Moves

The Corrupted Monk has many attacks and very little openings for you to counter. It's best to keep your distance and trigger the Monk's jump moves - attacks that give you an opening to deal hits of your own.

Continuous Spin Attacks

Continuous Spin Attacks

This move can be blocked by deflecting or avoided by keeping your distance. If you can time your deflects well, you'll be able to put in a couple of counter attacks.

Perilous Attack - Forward Thrust Attack

Perilous Attack - Forward Thrust Attack

Since this Perilous Attack cannot be deflected, step-dodge or jump to the side. When you're able to successfully avoid this attack, you can attack the Corrupted Monk with a few strikes.

Perilous Attack - 360 Degree Spin

Perilous Attack - 360 Degree Spin

The Corrupted Monk will spin 360 degrees and you can avoid getting hurt by jumping above the spear.

Jump Attack

Jump Attack

The Corrupted Monk will jump up and strike down with their spear. You can dodge this step-dodge to the left or right. You can also parry and do a counterattack. Since the Corrupted Monk will take time for its next attack after this move, you can put in a couple of hits.
