Ignore Enemies by Grappling
There will be quite a lot of Monkey enemies scatted around this area. You don't need to defeat all of them to pass through, and you can continue on your way by just grappling away.

Guardian Ape Boss Fight Battle Strategy
Check Out How to Beat Guardian ApeGuardian Ape Boss Fight has 2 Phases
The Guardian Ape will rise back up even without its head once you've defeated it once. The boss fight will resume, requiring you to defeat it a second time.
Returns to Phase 1 if You're Killed
You'll need to redo the Guardian Ape boss fight from the very beginning if you are killed by it. This means it will start again with the Guardian Ape's head attached back on its neck.
Phase 1 (With Head) - Tips
Attack the Guardian Ape from Behind or Side
As much as possible, stay behind or at the side of the Guardian Ape to stay out of reach of its attacks, while also getting an opening to strike. Its sides and behind remain unguarded most of the fight so take advantage of that.
Huge Opening when Headless Ape Jumps to the Ground
One of the attacks of the Guardian Ape has it leaping and landing on the ground, trying to grab you. Stay back when he jumps then rush to its behind when it lands as it cannot counter while it's standing back up.
Stuck Guardian Sword can be Grappled to
You can perform a Grapple Attack on the Guardian Monkey since the sword stuck on its head is a grapple point. Watch out for the grapple indication and quickly attach to it when it's available.
Grapple to Trees to Get to Safety
If you're getting overwhelmed by the Guardian Ape, you can grapple away via the trees around the Poison Swamp. Try to keep track of which ones are standing up because the Guardian Ape can destroy them.
Phase 2 (Without Head) - Tips
Adjust to Guardian Ape's Longer Reach
The Guardian Ape will take up the previously stuck sword and use it as a weapon, greatly expanding its range of attacks. You'll need to dodge farther when he does his swing attacks now.
Stay Clear of Guardian Ape's Roar
The roar attack of the Guardian Ape can easily fill up your Terror Bar if you get caught in it. As soon as it brings its head near its neck, run away to escape the incoming attack.
Continue Striking From the Back
Even with its new weapon, the Guardian Ape's rear will still be unguarded. Stay behind the enemy as much as possible and strike it from behind with every opening.
