Received For Having A BOTW Save File
The Training Sword will be added to the inventories of players who have The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild save file on their switch upon playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

In the tweet that revealed the bonus, it was not stated if there is a required play hours on the BOTW save file. Even with a new save file, you should get the Training Sword.
