How To Local Co Op Multiplayer (2 Player) Mode

How To Activate Local Multiplayer (2 Player) Mode

1 Go to the Chapters menu & Pick a Chapter
2 Switch to 2 players mode by pressing L Joystick
3 Link up your controllers
4 Each player pick their Characters, Weapons
5 Start The Battle

Once you've chose the chapter you want to fight in, switch the game mode to 2 Player mode and back by pushing the L Joystick. Then, finish the linking to begin the fight!

The Local Co Op Multiplayer (2 Player) Mode allows 2 players to play on 1 devices with 1 only account needed. The 2 players will have to be close to the device for the co op to work.

Play With 1 Set Of Controller

Play With 1 Set Of Controller

The multiplayer mode is designed so that you do not need additional Controller sets to play! Simply split & spin your standard controller around for 2 people to use! You can link up another set of controller to use if you have a spare one.

What's Different in Multiplayer 2 Player Mode?

Play With A Split Screen On 1 Account

The Local Co Op Multiplayer (2 Player) Mode allows 2 players to play on 1 devices with 1 only account needed. The screen will be split allowing for easy 2-player game session to take on the story.

Cannot Use Runes & Elemental Rods

This applies when you split the controller for 2 player use. Runes & Rods may be available if an separate controller set is used byPlayer 2 for having access to the L, R button

Cannot Use Runes

Once you start in 2 players mode, you'll lose access to Runes that were available in Single players mode. This is to balance out the increased damage from another player on the field.

Players in multiplayer also can't rely on Elemental Rods to clear mobs. You'll need to watch each other's backs to get through mob swarms to win the fight!

No Character Swapping Mid-Fight

No Character Swapping Mid-Fight

While some single player chapters will have more than 2 characters for you to cycle from, such is not the case for multiplayer - each player pick a character at the start of the chapter and the choice is final. No character swap can be made during the chapter.

There is no online multiplayer of the game as of the release, only local 2-player modes. There is also no news on when or if such features will be added to the game, so check back often for latest news!

If you use two separate controllers, for co-op, not two joy-cons, so both players have access to L+R ****ons.

Character swapping is possible, but only if the mission has 3+ playable characters. Otherwise, you're stuck with who you start with.
