What Are Insect Pets?

Get Insects To Follow You Around
Insect Pets are a new feature planned to be introduced into the game! These will allow certain bugs and insects to follow you around as you explore the different areas of the backyard!
Might Be For Cosmetic Purposes
Based on the available insects you can have as pets, it seems as if the feature will mainly be used for cosmetic purposes. However, this may change in future updates!
Seems To Only Work For Small Insects
Based on the game's roadmap, there is only one insect listed to become a pet. This insect is the Aphid. It is still unclear whether larger insects will be able to be tamed and become your pets.

The Roadmap also states that there will be enhancements to your pets. This may mean that the pets can be utilized to do other tasks such as collecting nearby resources or even help fight other creatures!
