In the Division 2, you are given more open world activities to complete. These include rescuing civilians from execution, completing projects, and more! You will find many things to do as you wander around Washington D.C.!
Changes To Weapon Mods
Unlock Weapon Mods Instead Of Looting Them
Weapon Mods will now be unlocked by meeting certain conditions when playing the game. These can be attached to your weapons to enhance their performance in some aspects, while diminishing other stats.

Armor Now Has Its Own HP Bar
Armor has now turned into your second HP bar. This means that enemies must first reduce your armor to 0 before they can start damaging your HP. However, you can use skills such as the Fixer Drone to repair your armor!

Made The Dark Zone More Accessible To Players
Previously, The Dark Zone has had quite the reputation as being a very dangerous area in the game. In The Division 2, the Dark Zone has been changed to make it more accessible for players, especially Beginners.

You will now be able to enter into 3 Dark Zones into the map. 2 of these Dark Zones have been normalized, meaning that the base stats for loot you find are scaled to the average stats of the different players in the area.
One Dark Zone Will Be Occupied
After a certain period of time has passed, one of these Dark Zones will turn into an "Occupied" Dark Zone. In this area, normalization is turned off, and friendly-fire is enabled.
Non-Contaminated Loot Introduced
Another change being brought to the Dark Zone is the introduction of non-contaminated loot. This means that there are items that you find in the Dark Zone which does not need the helicopter to extract them.
End-Game Changes
Choose A Specialization For End-Game
By end-game, you will have chosen a specialization for your player character. Each specialization brings with it a different way to play your character! As of now, you will be able to choose between three specializations.
Specializations In Division 2
Specialization | Description |
---|---|
Survivalist | Control surroundings using traps and status effects. Signature weapon is a Crossbow. |
Demolitionist | Wreak havoc and bring forth chaos using your signature Grenade Launcher. |
Sharpshooter | Pick off enemies from afar using the Sniper Rifle as a signature weapon. |
8 Man Raids Implemented In End-Game
Raids will also be part of the end-game content, where up to 8 different players will join each other in fighting against difficult enemies in the game.
