Collect Spirits Using The Spirit Board
In SSBU, there are a number of ways to collect Spirits; the entities that power up your fighter, and give them new and unique abilities! You can acquire Spirits using a number of different methods:
Which Game Modes Give You Spirits?
Fight And Defeat Enemies In World Of Light
When playing World of Light, you will be able to acquire Spirits by freeing them in battle. However, each Spirit may have conditions that will be to their advantage in battle. Be careful!

You will be able to get Spirits of your fighters when you defeat them in Classic Mode. Other than that, you may also get bonus Spirits when beating the Classic Mode!

The Spirit Board will be your fastest way to unlock Spirits. The Spirit Board refreshes after a short amount of time so you can battle more, and get more Spirits faster!
Use The Spirit Board To Get Spirits Fast
Step 1: Choose Which Spirit You Want To Get
After entering the Spirit Board, you will have the choice to choose which Spirit you want to get.
Don't Think Too Long As The Board Refreshes Often
Spirits refresh on the board every 5 minutes. If you defeat or lose to a Spirit, the slot on the board will remain empty for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Arrange Your Party Depending On The Conditions
Once you have chosen the Spirit you want to fight, check the conditions of the match and assemble your party to help you defeat the Spirit!

Remember that certain types of Spirits have weaknesses too! So keep this in mind when assembling your party. No one wants to go into a fight at a disadvantage!
Step 3: Fight And Defeat The Spirit
After assembling your team! Go and fight against the Spirit to acquire it! Remember to defeat it in order for you to have the chance to get it!
The Spirit Will Disappear If You Lose
If you lose, the Spirit will disappear from the Spirit Board, and you will have to wait until it shows up again. However, you can bypass this by using the "Rematch" Board Item.
Step 4: Hit The Spirit After The Match
After winning, you will have the chance to acquire the Spirit by shooting at it through a revolving shield! Time your shot right to get a hit!
Efficiently Using The Spirit Board
Increase The Amount Of Spirits On The Board
You can get a lot more choices on the Spirit Board by expanding the number of Spirits that appear on the board! Currently, the only way to do this, is to keep challenging Spirits on the Spirit Board.
Increase Your Chances Of Hitting The Spirit
Hitting the Spirit through the shield can be tricky! Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make it easier for you to shoot the Spirit!
Shoot The Spirit Earlier
Since the Shield revolves around the Spirit quickly, it is recommended to shoot the Spirit just before the Shield's opening revolves to the Spirit. This will increase your chances of getting the Spirit!
Use Help Items To Acquire Spirits Easier
There will be help items that you can use such as the "Shield Spacer" and the "Sluggish Shield". These items will increase the opening's size or slow down the shield's revolution respectively.
