What Is A Challenger?
A New Fighter to Add To Your Roster
While playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you may find that suddenly, a new challenger will approach you! You will need to fight these challengers with the last character you used in a fight!
Defeat The Fighter To Add To Your Roster
If you defeat the challenger, they will be automatically added to your roster of fighters! You will then be able to use them in almost all game modes!
Losing Will Not Add Them To Your Roster
However, if you lose, the fighter will not be added to your roster, and you cannot have a rematch with them immediately!
How Long Before I Can Hold A Rematch With A Challenger?
Wait 10 Minutes And Play 1 Match
You will need to wait around 10 minutes and play at least one match before being able to fight the challengers again.
How To Hold A Rematch
Step 1: Head To The Challenger's Approach
After waiting the appropriate time, and playing at least one battle, you can head to the "Challenger's Approach" found under the Games & More section to have a rematch with a challenger!
Step 2: Choose Your Fighter
You will be able to choose your own fighter from your existing roster. Choose the fighter you have the most experience with, or with whom you are comfortable with to get the job done.
Step 3: Have A Rematch With The Challenger
Just like before, the fight will be a 1 Stock match, meaning that single KO will decide the victor! Do your best, and get the KO first!
You Can Hold Another Rematch If You Lose
If you lose during your rematch, don't worry! You will be able to hold another rematch if enough time has passed.
Wait For 10 Minutes For Rematch
You will be able to hold a rematch with the challenger again once per 10 minutes, and playing at least 1 battle. The Challenger's Approach will reappear in the Games & More section.
