What Are Spirits?

Equippable Characters That Boost Your Fighter

Spirits are characters within the SSBU universe that you can unlock & equip to boost the stats of your chosen Fighter.

Two Kinds Of Spirits - Primary & Support

You can equip two kinds of Spirits in this game. Primary Spirits boost your Fighter's stats like health, attach, etc. while Support Spirits give your Fighter special abilities.

Can Be Leveled To Be Stronger

Spirits can be leveled up within the game to make their stat boosts or abilities stronger. They can also be evolved to make them even stronger!

Equippable From Team Setup

You can create a team of Spirits from the "Team Setup" option under "Collection" from the "Spirits" menu.

How To Level Up Spirits

Equip Spirits & Fight Matches To Level Them Up

Simply equipping Spirits and having them in your loadout will give them experience points and eventually level them up.

Feed Them Snacks In Adventure Mode

You can also level up your Spirits by feeding them snacks in Adventure Mode. Open up your menu using the X button, press "Manage Spirits" then "Level Up" to choose the Spirit you want to upgrade.

Need Cores To Power Up Spirits

You'll need different kinds of Cores to power up your Spirits. The number and type depends on the Spirit you choose to level up.

How To Unlock Spirits

Unlock Them In Adventure Mode

One of the basic ways to unlock a new Spirit is to go into Adventure Mode and do some Spirit Battles. Complete the battle & its requirements to get a new Spirit!

Summon Using Spirit Points

While in Adventure Mode, you can also unlock Spirits by summoning them and using up your Spirit Points. Open up your menu using the X button, press "Manage Spirits" then "Summon" to choose an available Spirit to summon..

Unlock Them Via Spirit Board

For players who don't want to go into Adventure Mode, you can easily unlock new Spirits by going into the Spirit Board from the "Spirits" option in the main menu. You need to defeat the Spirits to unlock them.
