Ver 1.2.0 is out and it brings with it significant changes to difficulty, online matchmaking, and miscellaneous game balances!
How to Update the Game

From the home menu, highlight SSBU then open the options menu with the + button. Choose software update to get a prompt to either download it through the internet or Match with Local Users.
Ver. 1.2.0 - Offline Gameplay Updates
Approaching Challengers Difficulty Changed

The difficulty for Approaching Challengers fights have been adjusted in this update! Character AIs will now move according to the new difficulty shift.

Matchmaking will Prioritize Preferred Rules

Online queues will put more importance in matching players based on their Preferred Rules for Online Quickplay. Queue time may take longer depending on your Preferred Rules.

Ver. 1.2.0 - Compatibility Changes
Update Required for Online Multiplayer

Players are required to update their game to Ver. 1.2.0 to be able to play online multiplayer! You won't be able to access any of the game's online features until you update the game to the latest version.
Local Wireless Play Possible with Same Versions
For local wireless, players must all have the same version of the game to be able to play together. Ver. 1.2.0 is incompatible with earlier versions of the game for Local Wireless Online!
Old Replays Must be Converted

Replays from previous versions of the game needs to be converted before updating the game. To save replays, head to the Vault then to the Replay section to find the Replay Data and Convert to Video options.
