Location Ashina Castle - Castle Tower Lookout after Shinobi army invasion. Only occurs when choosing to obey the Iron Code

Perform a Mikiri Counter on her perilous thrust attack in order to deal significant posture damage will make the fight faster.

Emma, the Gentle Blade Combat Tips

Circle Around To Her Back To Deal Vitality Damage

You can circle around Emma and make her attacks miss by step dodging or by simply walking around her. Perform a quick counterattack while she performs an attack and her back is turned on you.

Defeat Her By Parrying And Building Posture Damage

You can force Emma to fight back by performing quick slashes. Parry her counterattacks to build posture damage. Just be mindful of the timings of her attacks to be able to parry her attacks properly.

Emma, the Gentle Blade Attacks

AttackDescription
Perilous Grab She slowly moves her arms up to grab you, and has a long range. Step dodge to avoid this attack
Perilous Thrust Attack She thrusts her sword forward.
Perilous Sweep Attack She lowers her stance and swings her sword low
Ashina Cross She sheathes her sword, and when the sword glints, she performs a quick cross slash
Upward Slash She charges in for a quick upward slash
4 Slash Combo She back steps and does a swift 4-slash combo
2 Slash Combo She back steps and slashes twice
Backhand Slash She swings her sword from her left side for a quick slash

Perilous Grab

She raises her hands and lunges forward to grab you. Her forward tracking has a long range so step dodge this to the left or right.

Perilous Thrust Attack

After making a few steps and a few attacks, she performs a perilous thrust attack. Perform a Mikiri counter in order to deal significant posture damage on her.

Perilous Sweep Attack

She raises her sword to her back and performs a perilous sweep attack. Jump to avoid this attack.

Ashina Cross

She sheathes her sword and performs a quick cross slash. Circle around towards her back and you can attack her with three slashes as she performs this attack.

Upward Slash

She performs a quick upward slash and is quite hard to telegraph. Avoid sideways or prepare to parry.

4 Slash Combo

After a quick back step, she does 4 consecutive slashes. Memorize the attack pattern to nail the timing of your parries.

2 Slash Combo

This requires a bit of caution as the two slashes end up with her sheathing her sword for the Ashina Cross. Performing a counter attack her the two slashes can be risky as it opens you up for her own counter attack.

Backhand Slash

A backhand slash that comes from her left side. Parry this attack when you see her right arm crossing her left.
